Your child is soon to sit their mock examinations. (Exams are in the week beginning Monday 20 November.) This is a crucial time for them to prove their potential in Post-16 courses, as they will also be deciding to which sixth form or college they wish to apply. (We have our own 11 into 12 evening here on 9 November at 7pm in the Singleton Centre, Delaware Road entrance.)

As they will not have actual results when schools and colleges make their offers, it is the mock examination results which we and all other establishments use to inform our offer to students. This means that it is imperative that they achieve the very best grades they can in the coming examinations.

In order to ensure this happens we have organised a revision conference for all Year 11 students from Tuesday, 14 November to Thursday, 16 November, which will involve a concentrated programme of revision of all examination subjects over the three days, during and after school until 5:30 each day.

We would urge you to encourage your child to embrace this opportunity and attend all sessions positively and with determination, and if you have any questions regarding the conference, please don’t hesitate in contacting myself on ext 172 or by email .
